Voice over LTE (VoLTE) is being increasingly deployed on a global scale to free up spectrum in 2G and 3G and prepare for 5G VoNR. This home-routed traffic from inbound roamers bypasses existing lawful intercept capabilities creating an intelligence and compliance gap that persists in 5G.
